Ed,

I too host DXSpider on Ubuntu and went a different route for my web
interface.  Yes you'll have to run Apache for a web server but that's
relatively easy to install.  The route I went also uses Perl scripting.

I used "Webcluster Interface for DXSpider" by Hans-J.Barthen, DL5DI from
http://download.prgm.org/dl5di-soft/dxspider-webcluster/ as the base of my
web cluster but then went through the code and significantly modified it
adding CSS and additional features such as personal access to QRZ lookup
for myself (not publicly accessible on my public website due to abuse by a
foreign user).
